| Protect UN Pensions from sharp fluctuations |

The 64th FICSA Council recommended that a petition in support of the use of a 120-month moving average exchange rate for calculation of local-track benefits be introduced to replace the use of a 36-month average, that is the current approach. This measure, already approved in principle by the 57th UN Joint Staff Pension Board (UNJSPB), would result in reducing the impact of steep currency fluctuations on the calculation of pension benefits. FICSA is pleased to inform you that the petition is now on-line. We urge all staff to sign by 8 July 2011.
