16th session of the High-Level Committee on Management, New York, 18-19 September

FICSA was represented at the 16th session of HLCM by Ms. Véronique Allain, Regional Representative for the Americas. This High-Level Committee is composed of senior professionals responsible for administration, human resources or management, from all of the UN system organizations.

 

Usually, at the HLCM meetings, FICSA and the other staff bodies are asked to be in attendance for only a few agenda items and then they are asked to leave the room. For the 16th session, there were about 40 participants from most of the UN specialized agencies and the UN Secretariat, with a large number of women in senior positions in their own UN organization.

FICSA made a formal statement that covered three subjects: enhancing staff-management relations and staff representation in the UN system; staff safety and security; and the decisions, recommendations and functioning of the International Civil Service Commission (ICSC).
